Starting your own business and picking the right niche in no time

The Department of Health and Human Services, in partnership with the U.S. Census Bureau, is facilitating a rapid virtual technology development sprint focused on a pressing national challenge. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring that diagnostic data from testing devices is harmonized, automated, and shared with public health authorities and other key stakeholders is essential. Unfortunately, this process is not currently occurring because diagnostic devices and tests have not previously been coupled with applications or digital software tools. Through this sprint, 12 technology teams are working to ensure this information is transmitted efficiently, securely and accurately to key stakeholders, including federal, state, local and tribal government, employers, schools, consumers and more. 

We want to hear your feedback on these products! Join us for demos on April 1st to provide feedback and share your perspective on key on-the-ground needs and challenges to technologists developing digital products that ensure effective collection and reporting of COVID-19 diagnostics data.

About the TOPx Sprint: TOPx is an open data and innovation program facilitated by the Department of Health and Human Services in partnership with the U.S. Census Bureau. Through a rapid virtual technology development, we are focused on a pressing national challenge - the effective collection and reporting of COVID-19 diagnostics data.   

This fall, sixteen designs were selected to participate in TOPx from the HHS COVID-19 At-Anywhere Diagnostics Design-a-thon, to develop digital products that increase speed, quality, comprehensiveness, and utility of COVID-19 diagnostic test data, as well as to ensure the secure transmission of test results to public health authorities, health care providers, and patients.  

About Final Demos: Tech teams will present their digital solutions and seek feedback and perspectives on key on-the-ground needs and challenges from potential end users on April 1st. Each team will present a 20 minute demo between 1 and 5pm ET, and the schedule of demos will be shared out with registered attendees along with product information.
